DiSCo recognizes an extraordinary contribution for undergraduate students who, due to serious personal or family events that occurred in the previous academic year, are in conditions of hardship that compromise the achievement of merit requirements or access to ordinary benefits.
The grant, determined according to the criteria described in Article 12 of the notice, may consist of:

  • Extraordinary economic support (between €556.90 and €6,415.97);
  • Free access to canteen services and accommodation place.

To whom it is addressed

The call is intended for:

  • Students with the financial requirements stipulated in Article 11 of the Call for application for Scholarships a.y. 2024/2025, who, due to serious reasons, have not acquired the required number of credits;
  • Students with merit and financial requirements referred to in the Notice of Competition a.y. 2024/2025, unable to apply for ordinary benefits)
  • Students who meet the income requirements stipulated in the call for application for the awarding of Scholarships for the relevant academic year who, due to serious reasons, have not acquired the number of credits stipulated in the “Announcement of the Right to Study a.y. 2024-2025”.

 

Requirements needed

  1. Students who, being in one of the conditions of special and exceptional hardship referred to in Paragraph 2 of this Article, are in one of the following, alternative circumstances, may apply for the extraordinary grant:
    a) students who meet the income requirements stipulated in the notice of competition for the awarding of Scholarships for the relevant A.A. who, due to serious reasons, have not acquired the number of credits stipulated in the “Announcement of Right to Study a.y. 2024-2025”;
    b) students who meet the merit and income requirements set forth in the “Call for application of Right to Study a.y. 2024-2025”, who have been prevented from applying for benefits related to the selective procedure set forth in the aforementioned Announcement;
  2. The events of particular gravity that result in the situation of special and exceptional hardship and justify the application for the extraordinary grant are as follows:
    a) events related to situations of violence, intra-familial or otherwise;
    b) events as a result of which the applicant has been taken into care by social services;
    c) serious illness or disability survived by the applicant;
    d) death or serious illness that has occurred of a member of the household.

Only events that occurred in the academic year preceding the application for the grant will be taken into consideration, without prejudice to the subsequent, necessary evaluation by the Commission in relation to their concrete degree of impact on the applicant’s personal sphere.

The following are not eligible for this procedure

  • students who represent an event that is not assessed by the Commission as having particular gravity, or with respect to which the causal link between the event and the situation of particular and exceptional hardship is defective,
  • students who fail to submit appropriate documentation to prove the events of special gravity referred to in paragraph 2 of this article,
  • Students enrolled in graduate, doctoral and master’s degree programs.

Incompatibility

  • The extraordinary grant is incompatible, for the same academic year and degree program year, with other cash benefits and/or scholarships provided by DiSCo, public and private entities or Agencies/Bodies, for the purpose of supporting the right to university study.
  • The extraordinary contribution is also incompatible with other benefits for support for the right to study having the character of an extraordinary intervention, already provided by DiSCo and/or the Lazio Region also in previous academic years with respect to the academic year 2024-2025 and also as a result of specific projects aimed at categories of people

How to participate

The application form is accessed by logging into the Reserved Area in the manner provided according to your profile.

Online service

The application must be submitted exclusively online by accessing the Reserved Area with personal credentials. Access to the Reserved Area must be made in accordance with the type of student defined in Article 7 of the announcement.
