he bonus is a tool that allows students enrolled in years subsequent to their first year to make use of virtual additional points in order to meet the merit requirements set out in the notice.
Here is a brief summary of the main information on the bonus: please always refer to Article 45.4 of the Proclamation of the right to study.
The value varies depending on the year in which the bonus is first claimed
- 5 credits: Can be used for the first time in the second year of a Bachelor or Combined Bachelor and Master of Science degree programme.
- 12 credits: Can be used for the first time in the third year of a three-year undergraduate or single-cycle master’s degree course.
Students enrolled in second-level degree courses may use the remaining bonus quota not used during the three-year degree, up to a maximum of 12 credits.
- 15 credits: Can be used for the first time in the years following the third year for single-cycle degree courses, or by students enrolled in the first year outside a three-year degree course.
Use of the bonus
- The bonus can also be used partially, and the remaining points can be used during the remaining university career.
- The request to use the bonus must be made compulsorily when filling out the application for the benefit.
Limitations
You may not use the bonus if:
- you already have sufficient credits/exams to obtain benefits.
- you have obtained career abbreviations or recognition of credits/exams taken abroad.
- you hold a degree obtained abroad.
- you are enrolling in 2nd level degree courses with an entry-level academic qualification relating to courses under the old system.
- you are a freshman.
Transfer students
If you have transferred from a university outside the Lazio Region, the bonus will only be awarded after verification of the number of bonus credits used at your university of origin.
Documentation
The request to use the bonus must be declared at the application stage, in the “Registration” section of the form.
