The Lazio Region has launched the European project “Strengthening the Athenaeums” [external link]. This initiative aims to expand the spaces and resources available to university students by extending study rooms to cinemas and theaters. The goal is to transform these cultural venues into multifunctional spaces that promote the meeting of study, art and culture, offering students innovative and stimulating learning environments
By expanding the opening hours of the university libraries, students and researchers will have the freedom to study and access library materials at any time of the day, without time restrictions. The project also includes modernization of spaces, introduction of advanced technologies for service management, and improvement of security within the facilities.
Study rooms located at DISCO’s cafeterias provide an ideal space for students who wish to maximize their time during cafeteria service breaks. These rooms are designed to provide a quiet, comfortable and well-equipped place to concentrate on studying or preparing for exams.
The “Study Classrooms at DiSCo Cinemas” project is a collaboration between DiSCo and the Lazio Region under the ESF+ 2021-2027 program, with the aim of supporting the cultural sector and offering students new study spaces.
Cinemas and theaters in Rome and Cassino are being made available to expand the places dedicated to university activities, creating environments not only for study, but also for workshops and cultural initiatives that encourage the meeting of generations and cultures, strengthening the link between academia and entertainment. Access to these classrooms is free, thus promoting a sense of community and social integration
