Economic Documentation: What Is Needed and how it must be issued

The economic condition of international students (whose family unit resides in a country other than Italy) and Italian students living abroad is assessed through the ISEEUP (Equivalent Parified Economic Situation Indicator).
This indicator is essential for applying to the scholarship call and accessing related benefits, as it allows the student’s financial situation to be assessed in a way equivalent to that of students residing in Italy.

What is the ISEEUP and how to obtain it

To obtain the ISEEUP, students must go in person to one of the authorised CAF offices (the list is published annually on the page dedicated to the call for applications for student financial aid).
The procedure must be completed before the deadline stated in the relevant call.

It is essential to present all the required financial documentation at the time of the application.
Students who fail to complete the ISEEUP procedure at an authorised CAF office by the stated deadline will be excluded from all benefits.
Please note that no documentation submitted after the deadline will be accepted, even if original.

Documents to Submit to the CAF for ISEEUP Processing

To obtain the ISEEUP, students must provide documentation issued and translated by the Italian diplomatic authorities located in their country of residence.
This documentation must be officially translated into Italian.

The documents must contain the following information:

  • Composition of the family unit: the full name and date of birth of each family member, in order to correctly determine the equivalence scale. The family unit includes only the members living with the student (for example, siblings who have formed their own household or who live independently outside the student’s immediate family unit should not be included).
  • Gross annual income received during the two years prior to the application by each member of the household. If a household member has not received any income, this must be clearly stated in the documentation.
  • Movable and immovable assets held during the two years prior to the application: this includes any real estate and financial assets owned by the family. The value of these assets must refer to the two years prior to the application. If the family does not own any property or financial assets, this must be explicitly declared.
  • Rent payments: if the family pays rent for their main residence, this information must be included in the documentation.

Assistance from authorised CAF offices

CAF offices affiliated with DiSCo Lazio offer free assistance to students in filling out the ISEEUP application and issuing the final certificate.
It is essential to personally submit all required documents, properly translated into Italian, to avoid delays or errors in processing.

In case of omissions or discrepancies

If there are any omissions or discrepancies in the submitted documentation, students must correct them promptly.
Any additional documentation or amendments must be submitted by the deadline stated in the relevant call for which the student is applying.
Failure to do so will result in exclusion from all benefits.

Important

No substitute declarations, self-certifications, affidavits, or sworn statements will be accepted.
It is crucial to follow the procedure carefully and provide the correct documentation as required.
